In addition to serving as Principal-in-Charge of one or two projects to remain active in Design, our core business activity, my primary responsibility is to establish and implement the company’s Strategic Plan as approved by the Board of Directors. This means that my efforts are targeted on creating a supportive work environment in all five of the company’s locations by guiding the activities of company’s six project support groups: Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, Operations and Technology.

“For me, one of the most satisfying things about practicing architecture has been the opportunity that comes with each new commission to become immersed in that client’s world.  As a lead designer and then later as a Principal-in-Charge serving multiple market sectors over the past thirty years, I’ve enjoyed learning: the subtleties of brewing beer, techniques for preserving ancient texts, the requirements of large animal digesters, advancements in technology required for radio and television studios and how to keep dryer lint from spoiling the soup in mixed-use developments.  It’s never dull, always fascinating and the continued challenges leading to new innovations make the long hours all worthwhile.”
